Kingdom Rush in the History

I love 'Kingdom Rush'. Compared to other defense games, it's quite difficult but its addiction, cute characters, easy UI, great music and wonderful voice acting never let me go.

So, I investigated that all the weapons in this game really exist in the history.

1. The Dagger of MILITIA

It looks like a 'Gladius' of ancient Roman infantry. You already have seen it in the movie 'Gladiator'. Because of ancient Roman infantry's phalanx, to swing a sword which is more than 1 meter(40 in) was almost impossible in the battle. So, short sword, Dagger is developed. And Most of Daggers' length in that time was between 50~70cm.(20~30 in)

2. The Throwing Axe of BARBARIAN

The axe of Barbarian appears to be the throwing Axe, Francisca(Francisque) which was usually used by Franci who moved to ancient Rome with Germans.(Unfortunately, Francisca is just one sided throwing axe.)

Unlike to American Indian's Tomahawk, Francisca was very powerful giving 2nd damage to the enemies by being bounced off the ground falls after flying. In particular a very deadly weapon to the phalanx of ancient Roman infantry. According to the Franci's code, Francisca is only allowed to the adults and regarded as a sacred weapon so it shouldn't be sold or bought once it belonged to a man.

3. The Cannon of BOMBARD

It seems that Urban's Bombard of Ottoman Turks which caused the fall of Byzantine Empire was the motif. Actually, it's hard to say pinch because most of the cannons look similar, but cannons before Urban was just big sized guns but Urban's Bombard showed
fearsome aggression distinctly separated to the gun.

Even though Byzantine Empire was in the middle of Europe and Middle East, it could last more than 1000 years thanks to Constantinopolis' triple walls. But on May 29th 1453, impregnable Constantinopolis' walls have collapsed and it lead the fall of Byzantine Empire.

But it took more than 3 hours to load and fire a single shell and couldn't fire 7 shells top in a day. And 30 four-wheeled carriages, 60 cattles and 200 peoples were required to move one Bombard and apart from this, additionally 250 soldiers should have repaired roads and bridges ahead.

Despite of this serious drawbacks, once it is fired, the walls of Constantinopolis had become a ragged. Finally, the history of 1000 years had been disappeared only by the attacks of 6 weeks.

4. The Bow of HERO (ALLERIA SWIFTWIND)

It must be the the longbow which brought the victory to British troops on Hundred Years' War. Unlike to Mongolian bow, it was produced extremely big to maximize the damage. A Well-trained archer could have shoot a arrow to 10 seconds and one to 6 seconds top for rapid-shooting.

It required highly skilled archers so that all the archers should have received intensive training. Instead, they received a much better treatment compared to other soldiers and even could use horses to move to the battlefield.

* All are just my opinion. Just read it for fun.
