You should collect manuscripts in the road fighting or moving around. The events which already happened or will happen are all written there.
No need to read them all 'cause you will experience them in the game anyway.
You will keep surprised even in the end of a game by enemies' sudden appearances because they come out from the darkness. The darkness increases the concentration on the game but you will easily get tired even after 1 hour's play.
The game studio, Remedy took 5 years to develop this game and as a reward it was chosen as TOP 10 Video Game of The Year on 2010 by Times.
